Wellacre Academy, Urmston Secures Exploring Anatomy Event with £900 Grant Funding

Wellacre Academy has booked Sam Piri, The Dissection Guy to deliver an immersive Exploring Anatomy GCSE Workshop this June, successfully securing an impressive £900 in grant funding to support the event.

The workshop will provide students with a unique opportunity to experience anatomy in a way that isnt possible within the traditional school environment. Using real anatomical specimens and expert-led demonstrations, the event transforms science learning into a fully interactive experience designed to deepen understanding, increase engagement, and inspire curiosity about the human body.

The Exploring Anatomy programme is specifically tailored to support GCSE Biology students, helping bring key curriculum topics to life through direct observation of real anatomy. Throughout the session, students will investigate major body systems including the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, and nervous systems, linking classroom theory to real-world biological structure and function.

Experiences like this have a powerful impact on student learning. By allowing students to visualise anatomy first-hand, complex scientific concepts become more memorable, accessible, and engaging.
