Walbottle Academy in Newcastle Upon Tyne has secured a Premed Anatomy Dissection Day on 15th July 2026, making full use of the £600 funding grant to bring this high-impact experience to its students.
While this marks a first visit for Walbottle Academy, the organiser is no stranger to the programme having successfully delivered multiple events in a previous school, they have seen first-hand the value and long-term impact it brings to students progressing into healthcare pathways.
The Premed Anatomy day is specifically designed to support A Level students aiming for competitive clinical careers, offering direct experience with real anatomical specimens in a fully immersive, expert-led setting. Beyond strengthening core anatomical understanding, the programme plays a key role in shaping strong UCAS applications giving students meaningful, stand-out experiences to draw upon when applying for medicine, dentistry, and allied health degrees.
The impact extends well beyond the day itself. Students consistently report increased confidence in interviews, clearer insight into clinical careers, and improved academic performance, with many seeing measurable benefits in their A Level results as a result of deeper understanding and engagement.
This booking reflects a strategic investment in student outcomes combining academic performance, university success, and career insight in one powerful educational experience.
