Teesdale School and Sixth Form has confirmed a return booking with Sam Piri, The Dissection Guy, securing another immersive anatomy experience for students for the second consecutive year.
Following the success of last year’s event, the school has chosen to bring the programme back once again this time making use of an impressive £900 in grant funding to maximise the opportunity for students across the school and sixth form.
The continued partnership highlights the strong impact the workshops have had on student engagement, confidence, and academic development. By combining curriculum-linked science education with real anatomical specimens and expert-led demonstrations, the events provide students with an unforgettable hands-on learning experience that goes far beyond traditional classroom teaching.
Students attending the sessions will have the opportunity to explore real anatomy up close, investigating key body systems while developing a deeper understanding of human biology, physiology, and clinical science. The workshops are designed not only to reinforce GCSE and A Level curriculum content, but also to inspire future aspirations in medicine, healthcare, biomedical science, and wider STEM careers.
For sixth form students considering competitive pathways such as medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, and allied health professions, the experience also provides valuable enrichment that can strengthen UCAS applications, personal statements, and university interview preparation.
Schools consistently report increased enthusiasm for Biology and science subjects following the workshops, alongside improved confidence and stronger retention of complex scientific concepts. The decision by Teesdale School & Sixth Form to rebook for a second year reflects the clear educational value and long-term impact the programme delivers.
The Dissection Guy is proud to continue working with Teesdale School & Sixth Form and looks forward to returning to Barnard Castle for another inspiring and memorable anatomy experience.
