Yesterdays visit took me to Crestwood Community School in Eastleigh, delivering a full day of Exploring Anatomy sessions to students across the school.
This was a first-time visit, and it’s always great to introduce the experience to a new school, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with real anatomy in a way that goes far beyond the classroom.
Supporting Schools with Funding
For this visit, Crestwood Community School successfully secured £400 in grant funding, helping to reduce the overall cost of delivering the workshop.
With increasing pressure on school budgets, accessing external funding can make a significant difference. Support and guidance around available grants is always provided, helping departments tap into funding streams that are often underused.
Bringing the Curriculum to Life
Throughout the day, students worked with real anatomical specimens, reinforcing key curriculum topics in a way that is engaging, memorable, and academically meaningful.
Students benefit from:
A clearer understanding of structure and function of the body
Hands-on experience that supports GCSE and post-16 biology learning
Insight into medical and healthcare career pathways
These sessions are designed to complement classroom teaching while offering something students simply can’t experience through textbooks alone.
A Strong Introduction
It’s been a great day working with students at Crestwood Community School, with high levels of engagement and curiosity throughout.
A big thank you to the staff for organising the visit and prioritising high-quality, hands-on science experiences for their students.
If you’re planning for the next academic year, now is the ideal time to book particularly if you’re looking to secure grant funding and preferred dates before availability fills.
