Cockburn School has today booked The Dissection Guy to deliver the Exploring Anatomy workshop for their GCSE students, successfully securing £600 in grant funding to support the event.
The Exploring Anatomy programme is designed to bring GCSE Biology to life through an immersive, hands-on learning experience using real anatomical specimens in a fully interactive educational setting. The workshop gives students the opportunity to explore major body systems in a way that goes far beyond traditional classroom teaching, helping them visualise and understand anatomy with greater depth and confidence.
Throughout the session, students will work alongside expert guidance to investigate structures including the heart, lungs, brain, and digestive system, linking directly to key GCSE curriculum content while also introducing real-world medical and healthcare applications.
The experience is aimed at increasing engagement, improving retention of complex scientific concepts, and inspiring students to consider future pathways into healthcare, medicine, and the life sciences. Schools consistently report increased enthusiasm for science subjects following the event, alongside stronger confidence and improved understanding within GCSE Biology.
By securing grant funding early, Cockburn School has invested in a high-impact educational experience that supports both academic achievement and student aspiration.
