Alder Community High School has booked Sam Piri - The Dissection Guy to deliver the immersive Exploring Anatomy workshop this July, successfully securing £600 in funding to support the event.
The workshop will provide students with a unique opportunity to experience real anatomy first-hand through expert-led demonstrations and interactive learning using genuine anatomical specimens. Designed specifically to support GCSE Biology and science enrichment, the programme transforms traditional classroom learning into a memorable and engaging educational experience.
Throughout the event, students will explore major body systems including the heart, lungs, digestive system, and brain, helping bring complex biological concepts to life in a way that textbooks alone cannot achieve. The hands-on approach encourages curiosity, strengthens understanding, and helps students develop greater confidence in key scientific topics.
The Exploring Anatomy programme has become recognised across the UK for its ability to increase engagement in science education while inspiring students to consider future careers in healthcare, medicine, biomedical science, and wider STEM pathways. Schools consistently report improved enthusiasm for Biology following the workshops, alongside stronger retention of curriculum knowledge and increased classroom confidence.
By securing grant funding, Alder Community High School has invested in a high-impact educational opportunity that supports both academic achievement and student aspiration, ensuring students benefit from an experience rarely accessible within the standard school environment.
Sam -The Dissection Guy is looking forward to visiting Hyde this July and delivering an unforgettable anatomy experience for students at Alder Community High School.
